Why whisk?
The matcha whisk, also known as a chasen, is traditionally handcrafted from a single piece of bamboo and comes in a variety of thicknesses and prongs (“teeth” of the whisk). The purpose of the whisk is to gently mix the matcha with water, without clumping. Unlike a metal or electric whisk, the bamboo makes the whisk highly flexible and prevents any scratching or damage to your bowl as you make your matcha.
Caring for your Bamboo Whisk
Not dishwasher safe. After use, rinse in warm water, and place on traditional whisk holder to dry. This will keep the shape of the whisk (sold in our SANA Ceremonial Matcha Tea Set).

How to Make Matcha
- Whisk 1 teaspoon (~2g) SANA Matcha with a splash of warm (not boiling!) water until frothy.
- Add sweetener if desired.
- Pour over 250ml hot/iced water (tea) or milk of choice (latte).
